Hearing loss contributes to dementia

It’s very important that once we noticed that our hearing is impaired to seek medical assistance. Unfortunately, majority of seniors is in denial but in any problem the first step is recognizing that it’s happening to you. Study of brain scan shows that hearing loss if unrecognized can contribute to atrophy of the brain and cognitive decline. People with hearing loss tend to isolate themselves and refused to be with people as they can not engage in conversation. According to John Hopkins, hearing loss has long term effect on our overall health such as risk for falls and depression.
